Postdoc position in formal epistemology & law

A postdoc position ( 3 years , fixed term “adiunkt” position in Polish terminology) in the Chair of Logic, Philosophy of Science and Epistemology is available at the Department of Philosophy,  Sociology and Journalism, University of Gdansk , Poland. The position is to start between October 1, 2018 and November 30, 2018 (decision will be based on practical considerations). The contract will be first signed for 12 months, and will be extended by two more years, given appropriate progress. The application deadline is September 15, 2018. Some time ago  the Chair of Logic, Philosophy of Science and Epistemology had an opening in formal philosophy that since then has been filled. Now, another position (leading to a permanent position upon second renewal) is available (so, there'll be three tenure-track faculty members working on formal philosophy). Entia et Nomina 2018 CFP (Gdansk 28-29 August 2018)

This is the seventh conference in the Entia et NominA series (previous editions took place in Poland, Belgium and India), which  features workshops for researchers in formally and analytically oriented philosophy, in particular in epistemology, logic, and philosophy of science .  The distinctive format of the workshop requires participants to distribute extended abstracts or full papers a couple of weeks before the workshop and to prepare extended comments on another participant's paper. One PhD position in formal epistemology & law

UPDATE: Deadline extended to September 7, 2018 [POLSKOJĘZYCZNA WERSJA PONIŻEJ] PHD POSITION IN FORMAL PHILOSOPHY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF GDAŃSK The Institute of Philosophy, Sociology and Journalism at the University of Gdańsk invites applications for one doctoral position. First 12 months of funding start with October 2018, with the possibility of subsequent year-long extensions (conditional upon satisfactory progress) up to 36 months total. The candidate will be required to pursue their research and their PhD program at the University of Gdańsk (Poland) under the supervision of prof. Rafal Urbaniak within the research project titled Conceptual, formal and practical aspects of forensic and judicial applications of probabilistic tools funded by the Polish National Science Centre. No knowledge of Polish is required to complete the PhD. Applicants should hold an MA in philosophy or in another relevant discipline (law, AI, statistics, cognitive science, criminology, etc....
